I still remember my days in the ICU at UCLA
I still remember my days in the ICU at UCLA, feeling deeply connected to my patients but also sensing a desire to make a broader impact. That desire led me to take the leap into entrepreneurship—and it’s been the most rewarding journey of my life. Over the years, I’ve built and scaled multiple successful businesses in the healthcare industry, all focused on improving patient outcomes and empowering nurses. My passion lies in helping families plan care for their aging loved ones and mentoring nurses who dream of starting their own businesses. Let me share my story and insights to inspire your journey.
From ICU Nurse to Serial Nurse Entrepreneur
My story begins where I thrived as a bedside nurse. I loved the work, but I felt a nudge—a calling to do more. That’s when I decided to take a leap and start my first business: Heal at Home, a non-medical home care agency.
Starting my business was challenging but rewarding. It opened my eyes to the impact I could have on families navigating care for their loved ones. I quickly realized my passion for care management and patient advocacy, which led me to join the Aging Life Care Association and launch RN Care Consultants.
In this role, I became the "quarterback" for my patients—guiding families through doctor appointments, coordinating care plans, and ensuring every need was met. But I didn’t stop there.
Identifying Gaps and Building Solutions
Families repeatedly asked for 24/7 private-duty nursing services, but I couldn’t find the right resources to meet that demand. So, I created my own solution: Heal at Home Nursing, a private duty nursing registry co-founded with another RN Care Manager. This venture skyrocketed, helping countless families receive the comprehensive care they needed.
By 2022, we successfully sold the company. It was proof that nurses—with their expertise and compassion—are uniquely positioned to build thriving businesses that make a difference.
